In almost all the films we see, a crowd of people moves in the background behind the actors, animating the location where ascene is taking place. These people are the extras. Angelo, Paola and Daniele, the protagonists of this documentary, are three such extras who work in Rome.
Following our protagonists in the time before the day of shooting, from the famous studios of Cinecittà to working class neighborhoods, from chaotic castings to comic costume fittings, we learn about an unusual and fascinating profession and get to know a side of the Italian capital that doesn’t appear in any of the tourist guides.
